THETFORD SELECTBOARD MEETING
July 15, 2002
PRESENT: Mary Spata, Paul Raymond, Rick Barrows

UV Ambulance, Inc.
Meeting called to order at 6:40 PM.
Union Village Bridge: There is some concern over the condition of the
rafters. Several have been replaced, but others, obviously split have
been left in place. Future repairs will be difficult once the roof is
Recycling: The town has received two bids for trash hauling. The Town
would need to sell tickets to townspeople. The new site development is
proceeding, as the survey is under way.
100 Acres: Several interested citizens joined the meeting (George
Braley, Judy Bowdin, Robert Pulaski, and Jim Masland) to discuss the
virtues of having the town acquire this parcel. The Selectboard remains
concerned about any future liability the Town might have regarding the
water supply. That well-head parcel may not be conveyed with the
remaining land, or the water users could sign an agreement to indemnify
the Town. The water users will meet with the Selectboard on 7/22.
Upper Valley Ambulance: Kevin Cole, John Vose and Larry Lancaster of
UVA, Inc. joined the meeting to discuss concerns expressed through our
FAST squad. It was agreed that all parties should meet together to
discuss specific issues.
Warrants - The Board reviewed and approved warrants 29.1 for the Town
(amount $24,758.47) and 29.2 for the Highway (amount $8,021.38). Moved
Spata, second Raymond, passed unanimously. It was suggested that
advertising for the Highway Department be included under Highway
Paving: The Town has received State funding of $91K for paving, as a
result, we will pave an additional 4000 feet of Tucker Hill Road, nearly
to Route 132. Mr. Raymond will place an ad regarding the disruption of
The Board approved the minutes of 7/8 unanimously.
The Board reviewed the Union Village Bridge project and Mr. Raymond's
role as Town Representative vs. Municipal Project Manager.
